Meet our Irelands Real Estate, Renata Marhevka.
What is your position at Irelands Real Estate?
I joined the Irelands team in November 2016 as a Property Manager Assistant. In March 2017, I became a Property Manager.
Describe a day in the life of a property manager.
Every day for me is different. It is never boring, and I never feel like I have nothing to do. I manage more than 140 properties, and I know every single house, all the tenants and the home owners. I communicate with tenants, owners and contractors on a daily basis. I always try my best to ensure that tenants are enjoying their lives in their homes and that owners are happy with the results. I love to see people living happy and comfortable lives.
What’s the most fulfilling part about working in property management?
To me, the most fulfilling part about working in property management is to know that everyone is happy – the tenants, the home owners and everyone. It is not always easy to make sure everyone is happy, but once the problem is solved, and I see a happy face, I know my job is done well.
What’s the most challenging part about working in property management?
To me, the most challenging part is juggling many different tasks throughout the day, without leaving anyone unattended.
What hobbies do you participate in outside of working on the Irelands Team?
I recently started Salsa classes, and I absolutely love them. I always feel energized after each class, and I want to keep dancing even when the class is over. I also do yoga every morning. It is my peaceful time before diving into my busy routine.
If you could invite anyone over for tea, dead or alive, who would it be, and why?
I would invite a few people – my two beautiful daughters because they are my biggest inspiration in my life, George Clooney because he is handsome and charismatic and Zigmund Freud because I love his ideas of the subconscious mind, and I absolutely adore his view in psychology.
If you were not working as a property manager, what else would you like to do?
I’ve always wanted to be a psychologist and a life coach, and I still apply a lot of my skills and knowledge of this in my current role.
If you were stuck on a deserted island, which book would you take with you, and why?
Eat, Pray, Love. It is my favorite book. It always inspires me when I feel sad, upset or lost.
Do you have a favorite quote that you’d like to share?
My favorite quote is by Aristotle – “Happiness depends upon ourselves.” I truly believe that we create our lives ourselves, and if we want to be happy, we can achieve that.
